Leonardo Vanneschi is a Full Professor at NOVA IMS, Director of the Research Center in Information Management (MagIC) with expertise in Machine Learning, Data Science, Complex Systems, Evolutionary Computation. His main research interests include Machine Learning, Data Science, Complex Systems, and Evolutionary Computation and is work revolves around the vision that theoretical studies can enhance the state-of-the-art computational methods, providing practical value in real-world impactful application areas, such as medicine, biology, engineering, economics, logistics and many others.
He currently has published more than 300 contributions, 12 of which recognized with international awards. In 2015, he was honoured with the EvoStar Award for Outstanding Contribution to Evolutionary Computation in Europe. From 2019 to nowadays, he has consistently been included in the list of the top 2% world researchers, both in the current year and carreer-wise, by a study carried out by the Stanford University. His deep knowledge in machine learning and data science will drive the development of sophisticated AI models for vineyard identification and yield prediction.
